Find Your Balance

With Julie Cully Therapy

As a qualified and experienced person-centred therapist, I have extensively worked with a diverse range and variety of people, within different environments. Large organisations, including charities and corporations, have utilised my services to provide ongoing care and support for their employees and I regularly work privately with clients in my dedicated practice. I am non-judgemental, empathic and always aim to understand how others view and experience the world. I support my clients fully as they explore any troubles that they may be facing in life and discover how best to manage these. Based on each individuals needs I tailor my approach and integrate different styles of therapy in order to provide the most effective counselling for every client.

Due to Coronavirus I am currently practicing on line and on the phone exclusively.

Please see the BACP website for further guidelines which I am adhering to.

Person-Centred Counselling

Wandering Traveler

The decision to start counselling can be a daunting one, especially if this is your first time experiencing therapy. P> The very essence and core of this humanist approach is YOU. From the outset, you will lead the way on what we discuss and explore during your sessions. The focus may be on something specific you have experienced, you are struggling with  or you may be having reoccurring thoughts and feelings, which have a negative impact on your life and you wish to understand these better.

Whatever you wish to cover, you will set the pace and I will provide a non-judgemental, non-directive and confidential space for our sessions. My private practice is a safe haven environment, where you can explore any issues that you are currently struggling with, within a timescale that works for you.

During our time together, my friendly, down to earth approach will put you at ease and empower you to understand your feelings and perceptions, as well as manage these going forward. I take pride in nurturing every one of my counsellor - client relationships, through authentic and genuine interactions, as I firmly believe this is the key to providing successful therapy.

Be real therapy

On completion of my training at Lewisham Counselling and Counselling Training Associates London, I achieved a Level 5 BACP accredited Higher Professional Diploma in Person-Centred counselling, with Distinction.

I have trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centred, Existentialism, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic and The Egan Process. When working with my clients, I adopt the most appropriate method for each individual’s needs.

Both my studies and the experience I have gained in practice with a wide range of different clients have made me a self-reflective and empathetic therapist. They have also given me deeper insight and understanding of how an individual’s upbringing, life events and/or the impact of neglecting their mental health, can greatly affect them.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, "Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner." I don't try to control a sunset.
